ARMA 3 Expanded Movement

Mirror Z as standalone in 2014.

Great concept, but the wall climb looks too fluent IMO. Climbing up a wall your own size takes time and a lot of power, considering you’re carrying >30kg of extra gear in addition to your body weight, and a an effort that huge will end up in jerky movement.

Obviously with the gear on, it’s a lot harder, but actually climbing and getting over a wall of your own height is actually fairly easy. I do parkour and a 6ft wall (e.g head height) is easy as pie. It’s the ones that are taller that are harder to climb. Just take a quick run up and time it right.

Well, yes, I’m not saying that you can’t climb walls with ease with the right technique, but for that amount of additional weight and the technique obviously displayed, it just looks too smooth.

It’s not pie, it’s a positive bitch when you are donning anything remotely war appropriate. Such as a uniform and kit. Let’s not approach this in a style that completely ignores a central simulation of the game, but assumes sleekness akin to Mirror’s Edge or ninja techniques that belong to Japanese licenses. :I

That was my point Jako. Obviously with gear, weapons, armour etc on it’ll be a lot harder and I agree it’s too smooth. I was just pointing out that, without all that, it’d be a good animation.

I’d like to see opfor do this. Then we could see this in ArmA:

Maybe it should be based on your weight, and how much gear you have.

If you don’t have a primary weapon, body armour, harness/LBV then bring on the pistol parkour chases /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width=“20” height=“20” />

Here’s something else, some related to movement I’ve found today (includes knife kills)…

Climbing and knife kills look a little clunky (the latter more so), but the added reverb is awesome.

Hate the reverb. The original sounds already have an enviromental reverb (sounds bouncing back from hills and the like), all he’s done is layer a further reverb onto it, environmentals need tro be removed first.
