I really wish they’d put a little of this effort into ArmA 3, but I suppose multi-million dollar military contracts are still their forte.
The more I see of VBS the more I wish;
A) I had a super computer to run with some of the visuals and settings they show.
B) Had that level of detail in A3.
C) Had that much money to pump into A3 to make it so.
Seeing all of this makes me so depressed that I lost my HASP /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width=“20” height=“20” />
BI should be able to put some of all the money they got from all of us purchasing the game gotta be at least be some 20-40 millions, and I assume they would have all the money to completely develop the game even if they hadn’t early-access it. So if they pulled themselves together and actually spend some money on developing the game a bit further they could make a great game.
I think your over exagerating the amount A3 made, along with all of the production costs and staffing there is still the problem with A3 having 1 team dedicated to all of it and VBS being an multiple teams dealing with huge money contracts
I just wish I had the monies for a licence… /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width=“20” height=“20” />
How much are they going for?
When I bought it you could get a life time VBS2 Personal Edition license for 160e, but that was part of a promotional event and I think the non-sale price were 320e. Tried to talk to their support today and there seems like I can’t get a new HASP, and that the only alternative would be to do a 60-day trial, so I think they stopped selling life time licenses.
Even if you could buy this for say ?100-200..an expensive yet reasonable price (unlikely, I believe we’re talking a couple thousand?), I don’t think we’d enjoy it as much as Arma. In the extremely unlikely case we were all given free copies, I can’t see us having anywhere near as much content and I think we’d just be a bit lost.. like is there even a forum on the BI website where people talk about VBS?
Yes there is a closed forum for VBS owners over here. And there is a shittonne of content included in the base product and I would guess about as much in buyable content(maps, vehicles, weapon systems, whole armed forces). They are though often very expensive.
Last I checked, it was somewhere in the range of $400.
6000 dollars brah.
